Obituary
In the year of our Lord 1966, on July 20th in Las Vegas, NV, Helicia Thomas (Sista Charity), was born to John and Helois Riley. She was preceded in death by her dad, John, her grandmother, Lovey Sayles and her grandfather, Melton Sayles. Helicia is survived by her mother, brothers (John Riley Sayles (Marian Sayles), Sedrick,Riley (China Riley), Jovon Riley, Davion Riley) and her three daughters LaShae Baugh (Jerome Baugh), Jayla Thomas (Kel Thomas), and Aaliyah Thomas, and her granddaughters London and Isabelle Thomas. Her Sister-In-Law Kathy Campbell (Don Campbell)
She leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Helicia join New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church when she was eleven years and later was baptized. When she was fifteen, she sought God for herself and came to know Him as her Lord and Savior. In addition, she discovered His plan and purpose for her life and was totally committed to obeying her life’s purpose. She dedicated her life to serve women and teens. She had a special anointing to meet people where they were as well as serve and love them unconditionally. Her faith in God was unshakable regardless of the many obstacles she faced. She knew in her heart that God heard her and would answer her prayers. Her desire was to always put God first and be ready when He called her home.. Truly He answered her prayers because He remained first in her life and she was truly ready when He called her home.
Helicia was a radio personality, entertainer, counselor, teacher, trainer, workshop facilitator, Licensed Minister, Ordained Elder, wife and mother. Additionally, she was a college graduate and believed in lifelong learning.
As part of her legacy, Helicia authored three books; "Lord Help Me Revive My Sister" (A Discipleship Guide) and "I Almost Gave Up"Part 1 and Part 2 (Her Personal Stories & “Embracing the Unlovable, Handling Difficult People God’s Way”
